The Experience

Your adventure start to finish

Arrival and check-in

Check in at the Face Adrenalin base, complete your indemnity forms, and get weighed and harnessed up by the crew. Your guide will walk you through the full safety briefing before you head onto the bridge.

The Skywalk

You’ll walk the arch of the Bloukrans Bridge harnessed and clipped in, 216 metres above the gorge.

The Bungy

At the platform the crew does a final gear check before you jump. The freefall is 216 metres above the Bloukrans River. Africa’s highest commercial bungy jump.

The Winch

After the jump a crew member descends on a winch line to bring you back up to the bridge. You’ll be in an upright position on the way up with the full gorge spread out beneath you.

Photos and Memories

Your jump is filmed and photographed by the crew on the bridge. Head to the Face Adrenalin shop afterwards to purchase your footage, photos, and prints. Branded merchandise also available on site.

Frequently asked questions

Arrive an hour before your booked slot. That hour covers check-in, your indemnity forms, the weigh-in and the full safety briefing. From there allow around an hour to ninety minutes on the bridge for the SkyWalk out to the platform, the jump itself and the winch ride back up. Add time afterwards for photos and the shop. If you are doing the full package with the zipline, plan for a half day.

You need to be 14 or older to bungy, and weigh between 35kg and 150kg. The weight limits are about the bungy cord and the gear, not about you, and the crew weighs everyone on the day so the right cord goes on the right jumper. Anyone under 18 needs proof of ID and consent from a parent or guardian. No experience or certification is required. The bungy is not suitable if you are pregnant or have a heart condition. If the jump is out of reach, the SkyWalk is open from age 8 and gets you onto the same bridge.

Comfortable clothes you can move in and closed shoes you can walk in. You will be in a full body harness the whole time, so skip skirts and dresses. The bridge is always colder and windier than the car park, so bring a jacket or a layer even on a hot day. Empty your pockets and leave loose items, hats and sunglasses with your group before you head out onto the bridge.

Rain or shine, the bridge stays open. We run year round from 9am to 5pm and jump in almost any weather. The only conditions that stop us are electrical storms and gale force winds. If we have to close on the day of your booking, you can reschedule, take a voucher or get a full refund. Expect it to be cooler and windier out on the bridge than it is at ground level, so dress for that.

Bring them. Friends and family can watch from the restaurant deck at the base, which looks straight out at the bridge. For a closer view, book them onto a SkyWalk tour and they can watch from the bridge itself, metres from the platform. It is the best seat in the house, and since the SkyWalk starts at age 8, younger kids in the group do not have to sit it out.

Your ID or passport, especially if you are under 18. Sunscreen, because there is no shade on the bridge. A jacket for the wind. A camera for everything before and after, though it stays behind when you go to the platform. Your jump is filmed and photographed by the crew, so you do not need to worry about capturing it yourself. Photos and video are bought separately at the shop afterwards and we keep footage on file for one month.
