Full adventure package at Face Adrenalin

Most people arrive at Bloukrans thinking about one thing. The bungy. It is the reason the bridge is famous and it is what they have pictured for weeks.

Then they get here and discover the jump is one of three things happening on this structure, and that the other two are not consolation prizes. Here is the case for doing all of it.

What the package includes

  • The 216 metre bungy jump from the centre of the bridge
  • The SkyWalk, a catwalk suspended beneath the arch out to the jump platform
  • The Zipline, 200 metres back across the gorge
  • All safety equipment and crew
  • An official jump certificate

The three are designed as one sequence

This is the part that does not come across on a booking page.

The SkyWalk is not a separate attraction bolted on to fill out a package. It is how you get to the jump platform. Walking out under the arch of the bridge with the gorge open below you is the first real encounter with the height, and it is where most people’s nerves actually peak. It is a genuine experience in its own right, and it happens to be the approach.

The bungy is the middle of the sequence. Four seconds of freefall, the rebound, and hanging in the gorge before the crew bring you back up.

The Zipline is how you come back across. After the intensity of the jump, crossing 200 metres of open gorge with the bridge above you is the part where the adrenaline finally settles and you get to look at where you have just been. People who skip it consistently say afterwards that they wish they had not.

Booked separately, these are three activities. Booked together, they are one continuous arc with a beginning, a peak and an ending. That is not a marketing distinction, it is how the site is physically laid out.

You are already here

Bloukrans is not somewhere most people pass twice. It sits on the N2 in the Tsitsikamma, about 30 minutes from Plettenberg Bay and 45 from Knysna, and for most visitors it is a single stop on a single trip.

The full package takes one visit. There is no second booking, no second drive, and no second morning set aside. If the reason you came was the bridge, doing one third of what the bridge offers is a strange way to spend the trip.

It works for groups where the bungy does not

Very few groups arrive with everyone equally committed to jumping. There is usually at least one person who came along and has no intention of stepping off a bridge.

The package solves that. The SkyWalk and the Zipline are serious experiences that do not require you to jump, so the person who is not jumping is not standing on the side taking photographs of everyone else’s day. Everyone gets something out of it, and the group stays together.

It also has a habit of changing minds. A fair number of people who arrive certain they are not jumping walk the SkyWalk, watch a few jumps from the platform, and decide otherwise.

Who should book what

  • The Full Adventure Package suits almost everyone, and particularly anyone travelling any real distance to get here or visiting the Garden Route once.
  • The bungy on its own makes sense if you have jumped here before and know exactly what you want.
  • The SkyWalk on its own is the right call if you want the height and the view without the jump, or if you are with someone who is jumping and want to be out there rather than waiting.

Practical details

  • Minimum age is 14.
  • Minimum weight is 35kg and maximum weight is 150kg.
  • Wear closed shoes and comfortable clothing you can move in.
  • Book the morning slot where you can. Conditions are usually calmer and it leaves the rest of the day open.

More detail on ages, weather policy and what to bring is on the FAQs page, and the what to expect page walks through the day in order.

The short version

You will remember this day for a long time. The difference between remembering a jump and remembering the whole bridge is one booking decision made before you arrive.
